    LETTER FROM BAMENDA ARCHBISHOP-PAUL VERDZEKOV:
    Dear Dr Ngwanyam,
It is with deep gratitude that I acknowledge receipt of the information which you made available to me concerning the events which led to your being suspended from your position as Chief Surgeon and Urologist at the Government provincial Hospital, Bertoua.
By this letter, I wish to express my deep admiration and appreciation fo your courage in standing up publicly for the Christian values of truth, honesty and transparence. You have witnessed fearlessly to human life, every human life, including the life of Louis Abondo Langvoue, who died as a victime of torture and inhuman treatmen inflicted upon him be seendarmes at Bertoua. By courageously refusing to tell a despicable lie as to the cause of his death, by courageously telling the world the true cause of his death, you honour you noble profession, while at the same time letting your personal professional integrity and conscientiousness shine forth.
We must accept it as the will of God which always works for the good of those who love him. In looking to the future, I will joined H.E. Arch-Bishop Paul Verdzekov of Bamenda, one of your distinguished admirers in asking the Almighty God to continue to keep you and all who serve in St Louis clinic under His Fatherly protection so that through you, all who come to the clinic will be restored in body and spirit.
Courage is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirity. I render thanks to Him who endowed you with the courage to bear witness to the values mentioned above. Your courageous eason for great consolation to countless Cameroonians who are filled with utter dismay at the catastrophic erosion of the present ules of our alone in praying ardently that many more Cameroonian professionals will emulate your outstanding witness.
You have been suspended from you job at Bertoua noe because you have committed any crmed, but simply because you carried out your duty in keeping with the ethics and moral code of your noble profession. As I consider the sanctions which have been unjustly inflicted upon you, there come to words of our saviour: “Happy are those who are persecuted in the cause of right: theirs is the kingdom of Heaven” (Mathew 5:10). May the following words of saint Peter the Apostle be your consolation and your strength during this period of your suspension: “You see, there is merit in putting up with the pains of unearned punishment if it is done for the sake of God but there is nothing meritorious in taking a beating patiently if you have done something wrong to deserve it. The merit, in the sight of God, is in bearing it patiently when you are punished after doing your duty” (1 Peter2:19-20)
I pray that saint Luke, the Patron saint of Doctors and surgeons will obtain for you the heavenly graces which you certainly need during the trial you are going through on Truth, Justice, Sanctity of Integrity and conscientiousness.
    Yours very sincerely,
    Paul Verdzekov
    Archbishop of Bamenda.
